A Cherokee couple have been arrested for burglary and theft. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, along with local police, searched the couple’s home late Monday night. The search warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into the burglary and theft of a rural Scammon home on September 7th. During the search, deputies recovered the stolen property.
Sheriff David Groves says they were able to catch the couple after a passerby saw what was happening and called it in to authorities.
46-year-old Travis Delmont and his wife, 44 year-old Tonya Delmont, both of Cherokee, were arrested on allegations of Burglary and Theft. Their bonds have been set at $7,000 each.
