A convicted sex offender was given a break this week for not registering as a sex offender, even though this wasn’t the first time the man has been accused of it. 38-year-old Mark Bresee of Joplin was given a two year suspended sentence for failing to register as a sex offender and placed on supervised probation for five years by Judge Gayle Crane. A Jasper County sheriff’s deputy discovered in 2016 that Bresee was living at a different address in the county that was on file with the sheriff’s office. Bresee was convicted of a sexual assault in Texas 12 years ago.
