Pitbull owners in Joplin can have their pets spayed and neutered free of charge at the Joplin Humane Society. Shelter manager Lysa Boston tells News Talk KZRG someone heard about the many homeless pitbulls at the Humane Society.
“We actually had an anonymous donor come forward and offer to pay for the services to have all these dogs spayed and neutered from now through August.”
Boston says a pitbull must have up to date rabies and distemper vaccines and the pitbull must be microchipped. The vaccines are available at reduced costs, and the microchip is just $8. To make an appointment for your pitbull or pitbull mix, call the Joplin Humane Society at 417-623-3642, extension 100.
