A boil water advisory is still in effect for portions of Carl Junction. There was a water main break on Gum Road Tuesday, so residents in the Oscie Ora Acres and Dogwood Trails neighborhoods are being asked to boil their water if they see a difference in their water. City Administrator Steve Lawver gives News Talk KZRG the details.
“A boil advisory is just for people if they notice a difference in their water, then they need to take the precautionary steps of boiling it. Bathing is fine. For right now, everything is fine. Our water pressure did not drop below acceptable levels, so this is just for people to be aware that we did have a problem.”
Lawver says crews are fixing the water line, and then water samples will be sent to Missouri Department of Natural Resources for testing. He anticipates the boil advisory will be lifted Thursday.
If you do notice a difference in your water, boil it before consuming, using it for cooking or food preparation, or brushing your teeth. Officials also urge you to throw out ice made from an automatic ice maker.
