Local children and community members helped complete good deeds on Sunday. Since 2007, Good Deeds Day has united millions of people from more than 100 countries around the globe to give back to others.
Kids for Peace Joplin donated “Peace Packs”, filled with toiletries, sundries and personal notes of hope for the homeless at Watered Gardens. Participants also donated clothing, food and service time to Crosslines Ministries. They also signed up for future volunteer work at George Washington Carver National Park.
Kids for Peace Joplin Chapter Leader, Laura Potts, says they love doing good for others. “This is what community is. It’s people helping people and that makes us feel absolutely great about the place where we live.”
“Good Deeds Day is an international day where people all do good things on one day to try and bring everybody together just to make the world a better place,” says Potts.
