State Senator Ron Richard of Joplin has endorsed a successor. Richard tells News Talk KZRG he’s backing Rob O’Brian as Republican candidate in Senate District 32.
“He can continue the tradition of working statewide, work with different people. He already knows his way around Jefferson City; he’s well respected. I think its a nice fit.”
O’Brian has been president of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years. On Thursday (3/22), he resigned his job from the Chamber, but will serve as a consultant for the Chamber for the next nine months. O’Brian says business will be his top priority. “Missouri has been a really good state in terms of that regulatory climate. But by the same token, there are some specific areas, like tort laws, that made it difficult for business that need to be corrected.”
O’Brian and State Representative Bill White of Joplin are Republicans running for Missouri Senate District 32.
