It’s that time of the year when gas prices tend to go up. Mike Right with Triple-A Missouri tells News Talk KZRG why that’s the case.
“As demand starts to pick up and we see refineries going into a maintenance mode and a conversion mode from winter gasoline to summer gasoline, that triggers a rise in price.”
Right says he believes the price of gas will go up 20 cents a gallon in the next few weeks. As of Monday (3/12), the average price of a gallon of unleaded went for $2.29 a gallon in Joplin–up 20 cents from one year ago.
