More citizen soldiers in Missouri. Governor Eric Greitens wants to add another 800 jobs to the Missouri National Guard by 2019. State Representative Charlie Davis of Webb City tells News Talk KZRG he agrees with the idea.
“I think it’s a very wise move. I think the Governor’s got a vision of making sure that we have enough military to protect our state…and then also to be able to take care of the needs of the active duty military when called up by the President.”
85 percent of the new National Guard jobs would be for full-time Guardsmen with the rest available for civilians. Greitens’ plan also includes a new Transportation Company in Anderson and Monett. Davis says a Transportation Company is responsible for moving equipment from one place to the next…from tanks to food..where Guardsmen are deployed.
