Joplin-based TAMKO Building Products will be honoring first responders. TAMKO will hold a Red, White and Blue Banquet October 21st, honoring first responders from Jasper, Newton and Barton Counties. TAMKO director of communications Ron Cook tells News Talk KZRG why they’re holding the banquet.
“We really appreciate the first responders and all that they do for our community, the fact that they put their lives on the line every day. We believe that this is a good way to celebrate what they do for us and recognize the people that have gone above and beyond the call.”
Among the awards that will be awarded include the officer of the year, fire department of the year, and law enforcement department of the year. Among the judges are Freeman President and CEO Paula Baker, Missouri Southern President Dr. Alan Marble, Joplin City Council member Melodee Colbert-Kean and Missouri State Senator Ron Richard of Joplin.
