AFC Urgent Care officially open in Joplin

The doors are officially open and the team at AFC Urgent Care is ready to help you with your medical needs.

“At American Family Care Joplin, we are an urgent care,” Reilly Allmoslecher, Clinical Director at American Family Care, told NewsTalk KZRG. “So, acute illness, injury and other acute health concerns, you can walk right or save your spot and we will see you that day.” 

The team at AFC Urgent  Care Joplin, located at 320 S Geneva Ave, also offers occupational health services, which includes but is not limited to employer physical and screenings, drug testing as well as any work-related or workman-compensation injuries.

AFC Urgent care has a self-pay fee schedule. They also accept federal insurance like Medicare or Medicaid, state insurance and also any commercial payers as well. 

You can walk in to be treated without an appointment. You can also register before you show up by getting on the website beforehand.

“Our goal is to provide the right care,” Allmoslecher said. “We don’t want to turn someone away because we don’t have the right supplies or experience to be able to provide them care. We only want to forward really critical patients onto the ER. 

“If someone walks in, we want to provide them with the right care. That’s why we have X-ray onsite, that’s why we have a full lab onsite where you can get results before you leave, and that’s why we see all ages 2 months and up. If you come here, we want to be able to help you.”

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, patients are officially welcome at AFC Urgent Care Joplin. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

“All of our staff has been onsite for a few weeks now, and we’ve all been working for a few months now to get this set up,” Allmoslecher said. “With all of this coming to a close, the exciting part is happening now where we get to serve our patients, which is something we all love to do. Everyone we added to our team, we wanted to make sure that serving our patients was their goal and that they provided excellent care to the community here in Joplin.”
