Minibike rider dies in fatal accident in southwest Missouri

A man riding a minbike died in a fatal accident around 3:35 p.m. Saturday afternoon on Missouri 13, three miles south of Lampe in Stone County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident crash report says the accident occurred when a northbound 2017 Coleman minibike operated by 18-year-old Taylor A. Phillips of Lampe pulled into the path of a  southbound 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 66-year-old David I. Schuppert of Blue Eye.

Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene by Mercy EMS Supervisor Blake Fox at 3:44 p.m.

Both Phillips and Schuppert were wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.

Schuppert was not injured.
