Joplin school bus catches fire on Range Line, no injuries
A Joplin School bus caught fire Monday afternoon and quick actions by the driver resulted in no injuries to students.
Eyewitnesses tell Newstalk KZRG it began around 3pm when smoke was seen coming from the engine of the bus on south Range Line, just south of I-44.
The driver then pulled the bus onto the shoulder, near Fazoli’s, as she escorted the ~20 kids off to safety.
First responders arrived to put the blaze out as school staff waited with the students for a second bus to arrive and take them to their destinations.
