Diamond man killed in fatal I-44 crash

A man from Diamond was killed in a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 44 Thursday evening. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 47-year-old Robert Horton hit the median cable, caught fire and crossed the median into eastbound traffic. His tractor-trailer hit another truck, which hit another car. A fourth vehicle was also hit by the tractor-trailer. Horton was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident closed the eastbound lanes for several hours Thursday. Others in the crash had only minor injuries.
